Frank Jewett Mather Award

The Frank Jewett Mather Award, first presented in 1963 for art journalism, is named in honor of the art critic, teacher, and scholar who was affiliated with Princeton University until his death in 1953.



Conditions

1.
The Frank Jewett Mather Award is awarded for published art criticism that has appeared in publication during the penultimate year (ex: beginning September 1, 2006 and ending August 31, 2007).
2.
This award may be given for work that originated before the indicated period provided that such work extends into the award period.
3.
CAA welcomes nominees who have produced significant critical work in the field of visual arts over the preceding year.
4.
Nominees should submit a copy of the critical writing(s) and up to ten letters of support describing why the individual was nominated and should be considered for the award.
5.
Letters of support are important for reference, but the awards decisions are the responsibilities of the juries based on their expert assessment of the qualifications of the nominees.
6.
A complete c.v. (limit: two pages), and a nomination form with the materials mentioned above should be sent to CAA by 31st of August.
