Joe D. Simmons Memorial Scholarship, The

The Scholarship has been active in its present form since 1999, when it was initiated as a joint activity by its three Institutional Sponsors (IS). Prior to that time each IS had its own independent Simmons scholarship activity. The Scholarship is seeking candidates for an award to support the study of metrology and/or of measurements-based quality technology.



Value

US $3,000 award which can be used to cover tuition, fees, books, and incidental academic expenses.

Conditions

In order to apply, a student must submit:

1.
A completed application form.
2.
A list of courses taken and planned to be taken in pursuit of a degree (Associate, Bachelor, Master, etc.).
3.
An endorsement from one or more of the school faculty teaching metrology or quality-related subjects.
4.
A transcript of grades in all courses to date.
5.
An essay indicating metrology and quality concepts learned and applied in academic or work settings, and describing the student’s career aspirations.
